Specialist Training for Collision Investigators & Forensic Vehicle Examiners
Our practical forensic photography courses are designed to support professionals at different stages of their development, from initial training through to advanced and refresher courses.
Courses are delivered in small groups, with practical exercises, supporting materials and ongoing guidance.
Initial Digital Photography Course
3 Days
Designed for those new to forensic photography, the Initial Course introduces the essential camera skills, technical knowledge and practical techniques required by Forensic Collision Investigators and Forensic Vehicle Examiners.
Training covers camera operation, lenses, exposure, image capture and the fundamentals required to produce consistent and dependable photographic records.
The course includes practical training and assessment, with supporting materials and post-course guidance.

Standard & Advanced Digital Photography
5 Days
These courses provide more comprehensive training for FCIs and FVEs, developing both technical photographic knowledge and practical evidential image capture.
Training covers camera technology, lenses, settings, image capture in varying conditions, photographic principles and the techniques required to produce accurate and consistent photographic records.
The Advanced level builds further on these principles and requires additional assessment and portfolio work.

The Standard & Advanced Digital Photography Course is supported by The Institute of Traffic Accident Investigators (ITAI) and Nikon UK.

Advanced Forensic Vehicle Examiner Photography Course
3 Days
A practical course specifically focused on photographic requirements for Forensic Vehicle Examiners.
Training concentrates on capturing vehicle damage, components, defects and other relevant detail using appropriate photographic techniques and equipment.
The course can be delivered at suitable customer or recovery-agent premises where appropriate.

Refresher Photography Training
3 Days
Designed for established FCIs and FVEs who want to refresh or develop their existing photographic skills, knowledge and techniques.
Refresher training has a standard core programme but can also incorporate particular topics, skills gaps or emerging concerns identified by individual units or departments.
